It's the end of the year, and it's time for YOU to choose your favorite maps from the 2010 year. The most popular maps will be featured in our yearly chart.


(I'm sorry it took me so long to getting around to getting this prepared.)


If anybody re the "Best of 09" chart, then please note there are some very important changes from last year. First and foremost, we are NOT doing this by way of each 's favorite's list anymore. Each will have to actively visit the designated page to cast their votes. The rules are as follows:

1. You must be logged in to the osu! website and visit the voting page.
2. You are allowed to cast a total of 10 votes.
3. The top 30 songs will be featured in the first chart of the 2011 year.
4. Voting ends on January 5th, 2011, at 11:59 PM

The song list is limited to those maps that were ranked in the 2010 year and have no approved difficulties. It's unfortunate we have to exclude approved unlike last year, but due to a bug discovered in an earlier chart, that's the way it has to be.


Note that voting ends on the 5th. That means the chart will be available on the 6th. The chart will also end on the 31 of January.

What happens to the maps that are ranked say...tomorrow. Or a couple of days before the next year?

It would make more sense to do this a little while after the year is over, you know. Oh well, Where The Lines Overlap is still getting my vote until I can think of a better map THE END OF TIME.

All ranked maps from 2010 (that have no approved difficulties) are eligible. Yes, even those ranked tomorrow.

They may not appear on the list instantly though. I may have to tell echo to refresh it.

Can not seem to see a map rank of the top real-time.....

i feel bad since i have 7 pending maps (in fact all WIP) but no one ranked in this month =w=

We can put up the total votes for each map when the chart goes live (including for the ones that didn't make it into the chart).

Assuming everything works, it should automatically refresh itself every 24 hours around 11 pm GMT+13.

The voting does go a few days into next year so there's still time to play and choose maps that are ranked over the next couple of days.

IMO it would be good to know already what people like and dislike, even if it's tough what to choose (as e.g. I had 1 vote left and about 10 beatmaps to decide)

I think ZTROUT should be removed, and the title should changed to SECOND BEST OF 2010 VOTING.

I voted for only 2 maps; Primal Dialga and Ztrout, the former because it's <3 and the other because it was entertaining to me and the only other map that I can actually . I can the songs, sure, but not the map themselves. Ztrout was creative in a very weird sort of way that is hard to explain because it's both creative and not creative at the exact same time.

I could've voted for my own maps but decided not to be a douche (the only map of mine that would've stood a ghost of a chance isn't ranked yet, anyways).

I haven't played any 2010 maps, so I'm inclined to vote ztrout by default.

Yes, it matters, rhytmycal songs usually suit awesome maps, but in the end you judge the map. If the song is totally boring then the map shall be and you should judge that, not the boring song. Still, why are you we even discussing this? You won't vote on ztrout, me neither, others will and that's all :/

I'm considered one of the worst mappers of 2010. I map K-On! and Vocaloid . A map's success is not so much brought upon the song, but rather how the mapper maps it. I do understand that there ARE factors that can only be brought by how the composer composed the song, and how well the singer does, but the main thing is how someone maps.

My Hatsune Miku map was considred one of the best Miku songs to ever exist. I have random streams, cockblock 0.5x sliders, and loljumps. Some people would probably vote it as the best map of 2010 just because of the song, but it's truly not that good of a map.

bloomin' octagon was considered one of my most fun maps. It's YTP, so people are like "ong EEEE." Some people may still like it, though, due to the difficulty without inserted BS, such as Stargazer. The fitting effects I did hitsounding-wise and properly using 1/8s made the map much more enjoyble. In Stargazer, I misued 0.5 sliders, and it was D:.

If you're only looking at songs, then this becomes the music choice awards, rather than the Best Osu Maps of 2010 .
