hi, i specialize in snap aim and finger control, and I've been tasked with practicing streams (deathstreams and flow aim)

what should I have in mind when improving only flow aim? is it a combination of finger control and really really mild soft snap aim?

here are some replays for reference:

I think you're already doing quite well! (maybe too well for your rank... rank up now!!)

The only thing I could recommend is actively pushing flow aim heavy NM2 picks. I feel like flow aim is just the ability to stream as autonomous as possible - your clicking shouldn't be bothering you at all, and you should be able to focus entirely on your aim/reading to capture spacing changes.

At your level I used to play maps like Mynarco and scale up to stream maps with longer streams like evth's Sidetracked Day. As you specialize in snap aim, I think it will take a little bit more time to get used to flow aim and linear alt, but like I said, you're already doing very well!

Edit: I feel flow aim and deathstream in general doesn't require a lot of finger control... I was able to get away without ever being able to fully alternate for years. When you're playing flow aim, you mostly just try to track the next object by hovering over it. When I play, sometimes I feel like I zone out a little, but since I saw the pattern/spacing, I end up sort of "guessing" and aiming it without really properly reading every notes. I'm not sure if it makes sense or if there's a better way to put it. I think osu! phd explains it better...

I changed how I tap and I lift my wrist now. I think gluing my wrist to the table might have been compressing something in my hand and limiting my tapping motion, and I feel like both my streaming speed and form has improved. I can't finger control that well in this posture, but I think that helped flow aim in some ways!!
