So, I know I should just chill a bit since I haven't even got 24hours clocked in, but I'm on the cusp of being able to clear 3 stars.

Today I got a huge boost in accuracy and reading ability by upping my slider speed to 23, and its readable after about 4 or 5 hours grinding 2.2 stars, now my only problem has to do with learning some new stuff like triple jacks and I definitely need to improve my LN game, but I can now divide my left hand and right hand and play individual patterns and I also can play some stuff instinctually if that makes sense, especially rice notes, or easy jack patterns, certain beats I just know now how it's going to be mapped.

currently my accuracy is 96.?% which I think is good enough, but another issue has to do with my stamina. I think I have decent enough speed no thanks to french core/hyper versions of maps I mostly played, but I notice my fingers start to lock up and my mental starts to drift, especially if the song is trash sounding.

so, what I need help with are finding maps that will bridge me into 3 stars, maybe some easy 3 stars even. Also, stamina building maps around 2.5 - 3 star range, and I'll probably need some NOVICE LN focused maps since my LN game isn't as strong as my sight reading and rice game.

also do not check how many maps I played in the last two days, my fingers hurt, im brute forcing my way into 3 star maps, which is my goal for this year, to be a 3 star player who can S rank a few 3 stars.

and Ill achieve this by playing every single day, and pushing myself to the limits. Which is kind of a character flaw of mine, giving up too early and wandering about what if I didnt drop this hobby and kept playing the whole time, how much better would I be at it?

thats why Im not stopping until I reach a physical limit, not this time.

small long list i made ill prob link to whenever i do advice repliies thats more in generaal, lol

ik this is in link above but i wanna emphasize S ranks. S rank based improvement where you stop playing stuff when you can S rank (excluding specifucally playing for acc) is gonna be really good for your improvement. when you can S rank a chart it means you can properly and accurately execute techniques aswell as build pattern recognition (like in etienes etterna improvement video) and leads to good habits ig (i PHYSICALLY cannot mmanip which is good for improvement). you seem to be doing that so thatd good, occasionally you may wanna aim for 97% or 98% to improve your MA and PA ratio (ill list meaning at end)

for LN, i cant saay alot since due to how my improvement in 6k works and LN i dont habe much to say. all i do is play for S rank where i can and play normal, inverse, and release. i think release and inverse is best to start out with as release LN will make normal LN releases pretty easy, and inverse will help get you used to holding and lifting notes similationously. both if these, especially release LN, are always way underrated so you should play 1 star stuff of those.

acc value in profile isnt helpful iirc just ignore it

playing stuff "instinctively" i think refers to your eyes and brain realizing this game has patterns and it does pattern recognition. try to teach your eyes to stay in one point, itll make higher scroll speeds easier and prefered.

stamina comes over time, cant give advice as i naturally have crazy stamina (when i play stamina, my arms might ache but theyre not tired and i only had to to train it ONCE for an S rank on a 6.45 star)

if your hands hurt then you can only really have any leniency with that on higher SR (for 4k i think thatll be like 5.5 SR but take with a grain of salt as im a 6k main)

yap
manip = hit patterns incorectly to make it easier (like hitting 2 notes close together in time at the same time rather than correctlly)

MA = marvelous to perfect ratio, for example an MA of 3:1 (often shortened to just the marvelous amount, the 3) means for every one marv you have 1 perfect

PA = perfect to great ratio, same as MA

inverse = LN pattern where you basically always hold

release LN = LN gp with akward releases. scary on higher keycounts

SR = star rating

any questions just ask

for the most part just play whatever maps you can find, really doesn't matter what style. and increase the difficulty of the maps you play by .2 or .3 stars when you feel comfortable. i recently went through this transition like literally this week and am now trying to move up to 4 stars, so you can look at my recently played maps or my top plays for some low to mid 3 stars that i found relatively easy coming into 3 stars.

this is the most important advice for 90% of your time in the first few months of playing. dont try to metagame it and assume youll be a top player in the near future, just enjoy the songs, mess around with key modes, try some mods, maybe make a silly chart in editor, all that fun stuff that osu has to offer :D

if you try to play with the sole purpose of immediate/fast improvement rate, youll find the glass ceilings in your skill range to be much more frustrating to deal with, as you'll likely expect to grow more linearly compared to if you let it happen more organically.

also, please to take breaks! if you talk to a lot of players, you'll find that some of our biggest skillboosts happen shortly after a break, not every session needs to be hyperintense, sometimes just chilling on some easy charts and working on acc can be enough

if looking for specific style of charts (since you mentioned LN) you can search those skillsets in the beatmaps search. not only do the hotkeys work in game, but also through the search, so you can use things like "key=4 star<3 LN" to search 4k charts that have LN in names or tags that are under 3*

thanks everyone for the advice.

I hit my first 1000pp a few days ago and made some small changes that gave me a slight boost.

I changed my skin which has helped a bit, and I messed with some keyboard settings and game settings that also gave me better performance.

Unfortunately, I'm not a 3 star yet, I can get an A on really easy ones, but I'm always trying to get an S rank minimum, so I don't really count A ranks as beating it.

I've ed some beat map packs that specifically focus on training the basic patterns, jack patterns, triple notes, quads, etc.

I think once I can comfortably triple note jack, and I up my LN game I will be able to S rank some 3.00 star maps.

I've been practicing every day, and I've noticed that my stamina, pattern recognition and speed is increasing incrementally, so I think I'll get there by the end of the year or even a few months from now.

keep giving me any tips, or beatmap packs or even skin suggestions, currently I only fw arrows ddr style.

Ill keep checking this post, and updating it until I become a 3 star god.
