This is 3 weeks old, it seems they're turning back on this, but man, Microsoft is really forceful with Windows 11. I'm curious what you guys will do after Windows 10 ends:
- Stick with Windows 10
- Move to an enterprise version (they usually have longer lasting )
- Move to Linux
- Give up and go with Windows 11

I've a SteelSeries Rival 3. On Amazon Canada, it seems to cost 30CAD. Frankly, just about any gaming mouse likely has a decent enough sensor in it. If you want something smaller, perhaps look at the G102 from Logitech.great_elmo wrote: 3b3s4b

I'm on a budget of $80 and stuff for PC is expensive as hell here in Canada. Right now I' considering the Basilisk V3 Hyperspeed.
Hmm. I see. If I may recommend something, look at Fedora or something based on it like Nobara. It is solid from what I've heard, has mainstream AND has more up-to-date packages compared to Debian based distros.Jangsoodlor wrote: 3f4236

The thing is, I want a stable system that doesn't break left, right and centre when using it. Is fedora, as a semi-rolling release distro, stable enough for everyday use?Winnyace wrote: q371l

They update every 6 months to a major release. To my knowledge, they are pretty stable. Also, rolling releases are as stable as you make them to be, really. You aren't forced to update every single time there is an update.Jangsoodlor wrote: 3f4236

It isn't insignificant and the fact they're trying is commendable, frankly. Very interesting how they're delaying this one due to quality. Extremely interesting, considering what is happening with their rival. I think one review slipped, but it was only for gaming performance and it wasn't that big of an improvement over their flagship X3D chip, if I correctly. I doubt they can squeeze more performance out of the Us now, but it will be interesting to see.

maybe it could be argued that your hypothetical thread might've been allowed on the basis of equally as substantively on-topic as winny's additions would be. attempting to edit a singular post would probably not be intuitive for new developments, and patatitta would probably not have many options either if it weren't for that review thread being comparably more activePolyspora wrote: i6t6c

i think you will be left in peace, people just make reckless comments sometimes and we probably aren't in each other's heads to consider what would carry a possibility of real consequence. but i doubt they will have weight on the substance of the thread itself, and i doubt the gmt will find reason to take issue to the point of locking it. if anything, maybe this would be locked only if it does not return to the original subject of tech and continues to be argumentative, but... that argument, if it was one, is probably already over by nowWinnyace wrote: q371l

To my knowledge, its window managing system is just very old feeling. Things like window snapping or splits of any kind aren't possible by default. Maximizing is basically making the app full screen too. Alongside this, the ecosystem heavily favors if you have more Apple devices and the biggest nail in the coffin is the cost for such machines are extremely high and they still cheap out in places like RAM, which is hilarious and their defense against that is even more hilarious.Jangsoodlor wrote: 3f4236

well, vanilla Firefox's CSS is customizable so I don't see the point of installing a more bloated version of it.Winnyace wrote: q371l
I've been trying to use Floorp for the past two days or so. I guess these are my first impressions of it:
Overall, I do like it. It is slightly more bloated than vanilla Firefox, but offers a nice experience either way. I highly recommend it.
- It seems more smooth on my system than vanilla Firefox, which is nice
- They bring back the theme Firefox had before Firefox 89, with smaller tab sizes and a more tightly packed top section
- There are more settings exposed, like the keyboard shortcuts or the profile manager
- They add some new features like a sidebar
- In the settings, they recommend some extensions, like Tree Style Tab or uBlock Origin
- They don't themselves as the most privacy protecting browser. What they offer is similar to vanilla Firefox, which is alright.
Again, it is smoother on my system, and frankly I don't want to mess with CSS. A team of people can do it better than I can, to be honest.Jangsoodlor wrote: 3f4236

It seems he installed Mint on it. You're right as well, but at the same time, he didn't really specify if the computer has a SSD or not. If it doesn't, that would be the easiest and least expensive upgrade. Next will be RAM.Jangsoodlor wrote: 3f4236
