I'm glad there's so many things to do on osu!, so I chose 3. Of course as usual, I've started by just playing and having fun and making friends. Until I discovered that Taiko is very great as well.

But I started to be amazed at the quality of some maps and decided to practice making my own things, which is going great thanks to everyone's help getting me better at this. By using the forums I've made a couple of friends just by modding around and finding great things in the Random Forum.

I hope I do get active around more little by little, getting to know you guys better, rather than just business modding. :D

I play for fun, I mapped few songs, some never completed, its kinda fun and kinda helped me play better like thinking what the mapper is thinking. Not much of my maps were modded properly, made few skins, I think people liked some.

Is there an "All of the Above" option?

I mean, first and foremost, I play. Beyond that I am a (lazy) BAT, I make a few (cruddy) maps, I have 2 (incomplete) skins, and sometimes I even spend time doing nothing but talk on IRC. Not to mention I'm working at getting the first official osu! tournament underway (though there's still nothing else I can do to further this at this time...), and also play a big part in organizing maps for monthly rankings.

Huh... good thing I excel in 1 area..... I'd be pretty pathetic otherwise :|

I like doing constructive stuff.

BAT duties obviously, mapping occasionally, playing from time to time, sparsely doing Team work and generally hanging around in #osu and #mod with all the cool people there.

I'm here for the music so I play, mod, and map, but don't really do anything else.

I enjoy mapping and modding the most so I guess option 2 suits me.

I'm more like beat clicker.
Hidden sucks my modding time. I can't moderate my playing desire.
I would hit for #1 position if I have enough time......
Uhh well but I want to maintain my BAT color RED/ORANGE

And mapping? lol To make beatmap "ranked" is as hard as FL+HD+HR+DT
I would make maps if I have enough slots...... Everybody mod my map plz :(

I was trying few times to start mapping, but I just cannot make it through the beginning - how to do what... but who knows - maybe I'll learn how to map one day ^_^ for now, just player

Chose the first option, even though I do have interest in making maps. It's just that... I can't dedicate myself enough. I'll probably try it again, especially now that I have some ideas on maps to make... ah. Better stop being lazy already.

I guess I'd have to say option four. I tie option two, modding and mapping, into skinning quite often, so two is a close second. Pretty much every map I make I look to skin or SB or something visually, and take on graphical work per request often enough. I only play enough to hold my rank really.

So I chose third category. I mainly play the game, but i like to help people with beatmaps, hang around editor etc. :D also i like to chat. On #osu there are a lot of cool people. And that makes osu! so awesome :)

i guess im a little of everything except skinner/coder. i mod/map every now and then, i play ofcourse. i love creating and hosting events like tournaments for example, then again it's a little difficult to come up with different ideas for events ^^

When I first ed, my only interest was mapping (didn't even knew about modding yet). The result was "Party Night" OH GOD
I started playing osu! later and I eventually became more skilled at it, and I still have interest for modding and mapping so I guess I fit for option 3. :P

At the beginning I was good at playing maps, and created a few records before I decided to quit playing and become a fulltime mapper. I rarely played since July, so I suck at playing osu now :D

I'd say I can't really decide between both.
I used to be a beat clicker, haven't been doing so much lately with these new set of good players, so I tend to map/mod more. But when I'm tired with mapping, I sometimes play for fun :)

For this and future reference for these polls; can our individual votes be seen by anyone? And if so whom? I mean I know we can see total votes on A and B, but could you see that I, Pokebis, voted A and say, awp, voted B?

I'm a mapper/player, but actually there are different ways of playing maps imo. If playing means playing for score, I'm just a mapper who plays some few maps.
I used to play a LOT multiplayer, but I'm a bit short of time now :<

Pretty much player-only these days. I play both single and multiplayer (mostly tag coop).

There was a time when I dabbled in mapping, but the process of getting it perfected and ranked kind of turned me off from ever attempting it again. Any maps I make these days lie unfinished on my hard drive. I might submit another map someday, we'll see.

I play for fun. Screw rank, for the most part.

I have a few projects like "fuck - you" and osq2osb which are SB-related. Sometimes when I look at #mod someone is in need of a storyboard, so I help them with that.

I'm on the team. Woo!

I playtest maps for people if they ask. I think playtesting (with the mapper spectating) with a few comments afterwards is the most effective form of modding.

The community is great and I ... it quite a bit, if you can call it that. =]

Distributions? 35% playing, 30% community, 20% storyboarding/coding, 10% , 5% modding.

I'm pretty much on IRC the whole time; I only play the latest ranked maps and even then most of those are really boring so I'd say the last option since all I do is sit in chat and talk.

Well, if the stupidity level of the chat isn't too high.

I'm a beat clicker, but sometimes (once every 3 months or so) I try to make a map just to see if it turns out good. But the maps always end up graveyarded because I get bored after making one difficulty, and they're not that good either. So I chose the first option because I do it the most.

I figure since I have a lot of questions I'd like to ask, rather than waiting a week to add the next poll, I will roll over when the poll hits 500 votes, or a week (whichever comes first). Not sure if we'll hit 500 that fast this time, but hopefully it'll catch on. If you have any friends which haven't yet voted, please get them to :).

well... to be honest, i'm just a beat-clicker

but i want to create my own beatmap... my 1st beatmap... but i feel that to create a beatmap is very very hard and you need to be very patient for a modder, and later a BAT to bubble it, and later another BAT to ranked it...
or only i'm not good in editor :p i found it kinda complicated

i have more than the year in osu and i swear to have at less one beatmap ranked xD

A few months ago I started mapping and I'm really "addicted" to it (now I have 3 ranked maps so I think I'm doing it right :) ), so now i'm addicted to everything in this game! D:

On a related note the options themselves are rather uncompromising:
Sideconditions like "I'm a beat-clicker. No interest in making maps" create a specific tendency and leaves out subtle cases like "created a beatmap but is primarily a player".
That would probably confuse voters.

my old laptop broke so i don't play as much osu! and I only get to play it 3 times a week when I get to go to my grandparents house. There are laptops and computers at my school and you can play osu! on them but if a teacher finds you playing games on a computer your school email will get termintated (harsh right?). What I do now is go onto the osu forums whenever I can at school and tha's pretty much it. I love the forums so I just hang around here most of the time.
