Our first composition assignment of the year is to make ad music for either a saloon car, a stupid kid's numbers-based board game or a luxury bath soap/cream called White Musk.

Guess which one I chose.

Okay. I had to cut it down to 45 seconds, because that was the hard limit for the assignment. I'm quite proud of how I managed to shorten it, without compromising any of the thematic elements.

Before anybody talks about me behind my back as somebody who composes bad funk, that this is not only an ad jingle, but an ad jingle for an assignment. Every original piece that I've had to compose thus far has been an exercise in taking the piss. We like to have fun on our course.

I'm writing another chiptune style song. Not entirely authentic for a number of reasons, but whatever.

Jarby's finally released an album that's been realised properly and isn't just a silly exercise of amusing tunes. One of them's amusing, but they're all very interesting in their own way.

Before anybody says, "Jarby's ditched us; why should we care about him," we did the opening track together. If nothing else, listen to that one and see what you think.

I'm listening to some of the stuff on this page too and Static's stuff is pretty nice. It'd be especially nice to see this thread garnering more activity, although I understand that not everybody who makes music necessarily wants to show it off.

The intro definitely sounds promising. I will most likely forget editing this post when I'm done with listening the whole thing.

Well, I'm working on a small EP, so expect it in maybe a month if we get lucky. Hardcore, will be as 2nnt on DANCE CORPS (am I famau5 now).
