What does your desktop setup look like?

This is my development setup. If I'm gaming or watching video, I swap over to my desktop PC on a 40" LCD over in the other corner.

Oh - try not to go overboard with resolution, and if you plan to... well provide a link rather than attaching the photo. And don't use those awful er things if you can help it (imagesh***). if attaching fails, upppy is always there for you.
lol I just took pictures of my room yesterday because I am in the process of subletting it.

Current setup:

(note: There's a laptop on the bench in the closet but you can't see that D=)

Subject to change; I am nomadic and relocate my life every four months.

That Dell box in the closet is rather disturbing...
now that summer is here and i don't have to study much...
This is a typical step up. Midi Keyboard by CREATIVE ... (I'm going to get a new one)
Shin, your images are way to big, shrink them!

I need to keep my DS games in a safer place. ^^'
how?
I fixed it for you. If you don't have something that can resize images (photoshop, the gimp, paint.net etc) then you can use various online tools to both resize and host your image at the same time. In this case I've used http://imageshack.us and selected the resize -> 640x480 option. You can then paste the image link in some [img] tags in the forums.
Thanks phill!
I just got this computer recently, so my desktop setup is pretty basic/messy.
Also, this computer is actually better than you might guess from looking at the monitor. It has quad core! :3

MOMOTARO !!!!!

My desktop setup is hilarious right now. My monitor is on my plastic filing-cabinet-esque clothing dresser, my mouse/mousepad is on the box for my subwoofer (actually, the subby is still inside that box right now) which is on top of my PC tower, and my keyboard and speakers are on my monitor's box which is on top of my PC-tower's box. It's like I'm a hobo nerd or something.

:3
So, uh, anyone got a camera I could borrow for mine? .____.;

I'm confused as to why you make this remark in the desktop thread :P.

Aaanyway I'm gonna repost with my new pc setup :D. Quad cores of doom. They compile osu! fast.

Your keyboard is so flat; that'd drive me nuts.

Its really nice to use in practice.

Hmm, well maybe it's the key layout in my laptop that leaves me with a sour taste and not the whole flatness issue. There is only one place in my heart for the ~, and it's not beside the right ALT key, that's for sure.

I should post my current desktop setup here too (AT WORK LOL) but did not bring digital camera to work; I'll try to do so tomorrow.

Nah, super poor with a super awesome pc :P
I'll show you a poor desktop setup (or would it be a laptop setup?).

Yes, that's a Pepsi can. I took this picture like, two or three minutes ago. And the picture is made even more poor by the fact that I took it on my Virgin Mobile phone. :P

EDIT: The icon on the top area... second from the right... Yeah, that's osu!. :D

I think that the table is just smaller..|||
Oh yeah. The table is quite small. :P
OK, I got my new setup. The very sad thing is that I can't run Osu on this. ;-; And thanks to not being able to change the graphics card, I'm screwed. Oh well.

Really simple! I like your window.
PS how can you not able to change the graphic card? Even so, you can try another type of driver that is shareable with this one...
Because most graphics cards are soldered onto the motherboard of the laptop itself. ): Although I could get someone who knows what they're doing to fix it, but I have little time or money.

And yeah, ahahaha, complicated setups are just not me. Thank you, I like my window, too. xD

:(

You know, one of these days I really should look at ditching pixel shader requirements for osu!. This seems like one of the big changes that needs to be made before going big-time publicity wise.

Yeah...although this thing is already kicking the bucket, even a few days after I got it (gotta LOVE how I have never had a new computer, always a hand-me-down). I need to send this somewhere to get the graphics card changed...I mean, I can't even run StepMania anymore without lag and my screen getting fucked up. :\
It's incredibly unlikely that anyone can change the graphics card in your laptop. For a brief period there was a standard for upgradeable laptop graphics cards a few years back, but that has slipped away and is no longer up to date in regards to the pci-e bus most cards use these days, and even in it's 'heyday' it was incredible rare.
Looks like I've actually got to get a job. :\ Or at least find a cheap-ass desktop.

wasting time...

Is that a library?!
yeah. it's a desktop setup, technically... my home setup is a mess at the moment, books and paper everywhere.
I got a new desk today for my birthday (which was on the 21st)! Tiny table out, real desk in! I finished putting the thing together about 20-30 minutes ago.

The clock is fast for some reason. It's obviously physically impossible for this picture to have been taken at 1:00 AM EST; Right now it's 12:18 AM EST!
oh shit I didn't know it was your birthday, happy birthday, guy!

Gimmick photo from another thread:

Just add laptop on the bottom, below the keyboard, move the keyboard to the left, and add bluetooth mouse. Messy, yes. Yes, there's a whole bunch of crap here. You also don't want to see what's just below and on the chair. The monitor and speakers came from a desktop, but the desktop is all bust up - I have no idea how to fix. So I attach them to the laptop.

awp wrote: 4l4r6i

No one here knew; these forums don't have a birthday thingie. It's quite alright. Thank you, though. :D

rawrs phear the gigantic screen.
And i should really get a digital camera... my camera phone = bad lol.
awp at work

omg is that osu! on Solaris (UNIX) ????????????

if I spent more time setting up this shot I probably could convince you that yes, it's true!

however you can see the youtube bar at the bottom of the screen, right?

Meh.

Note: The tube of glue is there because I was gluing together a paper companion cube. Not for any other reason. Also, the mug is there because I had hot chocolate a couple of weeks ago and never decided to put the mug back. The speakers are hiding behind my screen because they're scared. And those most definitly are dual monitors, except they weren't supposed to be. When I got my new monitor, I decided I might as well plug in my old monitor as well. Plus, there isn't really enough space for my keyboard, so it's slightly off the desk.
Your wallpaper (monitor right) is the same as my laptop's wallpaper. Except, I opted for the Orange version of the wallpaper.

Also I just changed it to something else last night but it was like that for at least three months so lol@that

You're not the only one. I also had that exact same wallpaper, but switched it out for a Dark Knight Cecil right before that post.
Is it really windows Vista? Looks more like XP to me

I will try and post my school XP onto here

Actually, it's more of a Longhorn-skin. And it still looks better than Luna. <.<

The real question is, does it look better than Classic? And the answer is NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
But it still doesn't look nearly as good as Vista. :P
ARtoolkit and firefox running, ds plugged in for homebrew(and nothing else ;) ), controller for halo, bad quality due to £3 camera (which is like a million dollers/yen/rupees), nothing else needs explaining...

I've had my laptop for 3 months(seriously, i ed osu the day i got it), running vista with a steriotypical xp bliss edit for wallpaper, i have about 20 different ones.
Wait 3*15=...(Counts Finger)

(2 Hours later)

... :? 20! Wait... no.

(4 hours later)

...45! YES! 3 Pounds = 45 HKD!!!

Wow. I don't think we sell digital cameras in HK that cheap.

My panasonic DX07 broke
my camera holds almost ONE PHOTO!!!
i don't think it was worth £3...

Ooh, could you put them in a zipfile and them somewhere maybe?
I'm collecting them for work. A lot of people there haven't changed their wallpapers from bliss so I like using slight variations on bliss. This one being the most popular so far.
that's one slim keyboard you got there phill
That's the infamous Apple Keyboard. It's like $350-400 (HKD) for one of those expensive keyboards. I thought of getting one, now I'm stuck with a $70 (HKD) Philips PS/2 keyboard :(
My keyboard is like some PS2 piece of crap I found at uni. It was about to be thrown out.
I'm using a 1$(converted) PS/2 keyboard. So am I the winner now?
I'm using my Sun Microsystems keyboard right now. It's like a regular keyboard from the late nineties with the pale white plastic and the slightly muffled rat a tat tat typing, but has an extended keypad to the left with shit like Stop, Again, Copy, Paste, Undo, Find, and most importantly

It has a "Props" key! PROPS TO YOU, OSU! COMMUNITY!

Mine is free. I just got weird looks on the bus, holding a keyboard on the way home. I felt so Pure Pwnage-ish
You win then :(
this is my desktop its a mess but i think is ok :) the big empty part is where i will put my PS3 this month or maybe a xbox360? well sorry for the quality is from my mobile phone

the screen is very high huh? its because dont fit in the empty space and is a pain in the neck always stay with my forehead up.
Those speakers are cool

A busy day at work. Yum 1920x1200 resolution resized down to 960x. Will post my latest physical setup next time I have a camera handy.

my typical set up, laptop on a chair at end of bed.

Notice my newly discovered tablet on the right :P

is someone trying to kanji by attatching them to their monitor?
I do that at work with katakana~
noisy new addition to my desk.

GTA4 is sucking away time I don't have :(
