Problem details:
Title might be technically wrong, as the beatmap shows up as installed in the library.
Please correct me if needed.

I keep getting songs from the beatmaps i had deleted earlier in the main menu.
When you press play in this state, osu! will choose a random song instead.
Searching for the author/song name does nothing.

I tried replicating it with no success. (by deleting maps and looking through the playlist)

If you look up the song in the beatmap library (in osu!lazer client) the song shows up as installed.
Clicking on it moves you to a random song in song select.

If you the osz from the website and open it with osu!lazer, you get a succesfull installation notification, but all of the above remains the same.

Video or screenshot showing the problem:

I believe this could be fixed by a clean install, but i prefer keeping my beatmaps over deleting the dead ones.

Can you capture a video of this? I'm not sure I'm understanding the issue correctly from your text description.

Would probably also help if you ed the client.realm file from your game folder.

I apologize for the late reply.

"install -> restart -> remove -> restart" seems to have solved the issue for this map, as both the song is gone from the playlist and the map doesn't show up as installed in the client library. I attached screenshots to the previous message

`client.realm` file as of now:

Hello! I'm experiencing the exact same issue again.
Song exists in the playlist, but the beatmap cannot be found with no error message.

Beatmap: beatmapsets/1379697#osu/2850905

Shows up as installed in the library:

Does not exist in the beatmap list:

`client.realm` file:

If you believe this issue is important enough to fix, I'm ready to cooperate.
Otherwise, I'll continue to use the previously mentioned "install -> restart -> remove -> restart" method every time I encounter it.

Can you provide uncropped screenshots? I can't fully see all of the filter criteria (notably the toolbar, which shows the active ruleset).

I made sure to deselect all filters and restarted osu before searching, just in case.

Updated screenshots and the realm file.
So in both cases it appears that you didn't delete the beatmap set, but instead you hid the only difficulty of a beatmap set. Those two operations are not the same operation.

Hidden difficulties can be restored by a button in settings ("Відновити всі приховані рівні складності").

The way you delete beatmaps is by clicking on the large of the set rather than the small of the difficulty, or using the "delete all difficulties" button in the "options" menu in the footer.

At some point we will probably do something so that single-beatmap sets cannot have difficulties hidden (https://github.com/ppy/osu/issues/20636).

Yeah, that is exactly what happened, thank you
After restoring all hidden difficulties, the beatmap is back in the list.

I apologise for spreading misinformation on the internet, it wasn't intended.

edit:
I checked the hotkeys, and there is no option for hiding difficulties in it, so it couldn't be a missinput.

Deleting a beatmap can be done with a keyboard by pressing "BeatmapOptions -> 2 -> Confirm".
*Where 2 cannot be reassigned

This leads to deleting multiple maps being much easier and faster using cursor input

And since group and difficulty context menus are visually identical, there is a chance of error.

This issue could be averted by:
- Adding a hotkey for both hiding and deleting a difficulty/a beatmap
- Changing the styling of Hide option
- Adding an extra warning when hides the last difficulty of the beatmap

Or simplified by:
- Preventing the beatmap header from disappearing when all difficulties are hidden.
- Adding an option to make hidden beatmaps/difficulties visible again (while keeping them "hidden")
- Making the list of the hidden beatmaps/difficulties manageable with some other UI.
- Adding them to a collection that is not visible in 'All Beatmaps' (as suggested in the issue)

All of these are subjective, and I'm also unaware of any of the technical details.

If you believe that any of these options is reasonable, I'd be happy to see that change in the game. (at some point)
